Anne Gaze is a visual artist working in painting, drawing, and printmaking. Born in England, she grew up in southern Ontario, where she studied Textiles at Sheridan College School of Design. When she moved to Vancouver in 1979, she started to produce hand-painted silk garments, which were sold locally, and taught classes in her studio and through the Vancouver School Board. She went on to study painting at the Emily Carr University, graduating in 1993, and printmaking at Malaspina Printmakers, where she became a member, and worked in the studio to produce hand-printed woodcuts, collagraphs, and monotypes. She participates in the annual Eastside Culture Crawl, and has exhibited throughout the lower mainland and Vancouver Island, as well as in the United States and Japan.
