Meggan Winsley is a silkscreening based printmaker, whose practice generally consists of hand-drawn and photo-based screen prints. In her work she often shows a connection between preservation and decomposition. Her images depicting decay emphasize a sense of elegance and beauty that may otherwise be overlooked in dying or abandoned subjects.
Meggan received an Art Fundamentals Degree at Sheridan College in 1999 and in 2004 graduated from York University with a BFA. She is currently based in Toronto. She began exhibiting her work in 2001 and since then has shown in Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Taiwan.
